# AutoFolio garage and catalog API

Members search the NHTSA vPIC catalog, add a car from it or by hand, edit it and read the whole garage, with the Free plan's one active vehicle.

`catalog.search` answers from a shared cache of NHTSA vPIC models and fetches a make from vPIC at most once a month, falling back to the cache when vPIC is slow or down. `vehicle.create` adds a car from a Catalog Entry or flagged manual, with its first odometer reading in km and an optional cover photo from the direct upload flow; `vehicle.update` edits it or links it to the catalog. `garage.list` returns every car with its latest odometer and valuation, a short-lived signed cover URL, years owned and the count per state.

The Free plan holds one current vehicle (RN11); a save beyond it fails with the new `PLAN_LIMIT` error code. A deployment without billing enforces no limit.
